- In 2007 I retired after 40 years in the IT industry. My last appointment was as Senior Technical Architect at a major international Bank. Experience in real time computing and communications gained initially in military systems and later in general commerce and banking has provided me with a formidable understanding of the technology behind web and now smartphone development. One of my hobbies in retirement is to develop my understanding of Java and Android applications and develop applications for the marine environment. I have a Bavaria 34 yacht on which I am able to use as a test bed for these functions.
